Hello! I'm Merle Summers, a fiction author and creative mind dedicated to weaving stories that capture the complexities of the human soul. Writing has been my lifelong passion, and I find endless joy in crafting narratives that resonate with readers on a deep emotional level. Whether I'm exploring the eerie depths of Gothic fiction or breathing life into vibrant characters, storytelling is where my heart truly belongs.

I am currently pursuing my B.A. in English Creative Writing and plan to continue my academic journey by earning my Master's in English after I graduate. My academic pursuits have nurtured my love for literature, especially Gothic short stories and the works of authors like Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Edgar Allan Poe. I am fascinated by the dark, haunting beauty of their writing and strive to infuse that same atmospheric depth into my own stories.

Beyond my writing and studies, I am an avid horror movie enthusiast and a dedicated fantasy reader. I find inspiration in stories that delve into the mysterious, the macabre, and the magical.

When I'm not writing, I'm spending time with my son my cat, Winston. He has kept me company during my time at college, and I love him more than words allow. 

I also love spending the day with my roommate, and closest friend, Madeline. She is an amazing artist and is on the road to being a fantastic nurse. Madeline has been a great support system for me, and she encourages my writing and offers many crazy ideas for my next story. Madeline and I can be found having "couch time," where we binge our most recent show that we obsess over, and eating Panera Bread. I am incredibly grateful for her and know that I wouldn't have survived these past four years of college without her.
